ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2003

ROBBERY:

700 blk. of King St. 08-09/ 10:50 p.m. The victim, a 22-year-old female was standing outside the restaurant where she works. A man approached her and asked for money. The suspect then grabbed the victim's tip money and ran away. The victim gave chase, caught the suspect and struggled with him to regain her money. The fight drew the attention of three bystanders who were nearby. The suspect managed to break free and the three bystanders caught him a short distance away and held him until police arrived on the scene. The suspect, identified as Michael Rogers, a 44-year-old black male, with no fixed address, was taken into custody and later charged with robbery.

BURGLARY:

200 blk. of E. Oak St. 08-10/ 1000 p.m. - 0-11/ 7:00 a.m. Someone forced open a window to the residence, reached inside and stole a set of car keys.

1500 N. Beauregard St. 08-08/ 6:00 p.m. - 08-10/ 10:30 a.m. Someone entered the business by force through a rear door. Once inside, the suspect stole laptop computers.

800 blk. of N. Howard St. 07-27/ 4:00 p.m. - 08-09/ 4:00 p.m. Someone entered the victim's unsecured storage bin and stole house ware items.

5500 blk. of N. Morgan St. 08-10/ 9:30 p.m. - 08-11/ 5:55 a.m. Stolen: 1990 Mercury, 4 door, blue.

4300 blk. of Duke St. 08-10/ 10:00 p.m. - 08-11/ 7:20 a.m. Stolen: 1998 Toyota Camry, 4 door, beige.

1300 blk. of E. Abingdon Ave. 08-03/ 4:00 p.m. - 08-09/ 9:45 p.m. Stolen: 1990 Honda Accord, 4 door, grey.

5400 blk. of N. Morgan St. 08-01/ 5:00 p.m. - 08-10/ 9:00 p.m. Stolen: 1999 Toyota, 2 door, silver.
