ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2003
FELONIOUS ASSAULT:
1200 blk. of N. Quaker Ln. 08-26/ 8:10 p.m. The victim, a 27-year-old male City resident, was approached and attacked from behind by a group of men. The suspects surrounded the victim and began to punch and kick him. The suspects then fled the area on foot. Police and a medic unit were called to the scene however, the victim refused medical treatment. This case remains under investigation.
BURGLARY:
1229 N. Quaker Ln. 08-18/ 6:00 p.m. - 08-19/ 7:30 a.m. Someone entered the business by unknown means. Nothing appears to have been stolen.
112 N. St. Asaph St. 08-27/ 12:26 a.m. Someone entered the business by breaking the front door glass. Police arrived, discovered the broken glass and several minutes later observed an individual exiting the business. The suspect, identified as Edward Veltoven, a 59-year-old white male with no fixed address, was immediately take into custody, brought to police headquarters and arrested for Burglary.
