ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2003

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

4100 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. 08-31/ 1:10 a.m. The victim, an adult Hispanic male, was chased from Arlington County over the bridge into the City by two Hispanic males. One of the suspects threw a brick at the victim striking him in the head knocking him to the ground. The other suspect kicked the victim while he was down and then the two suspects fled on foot back into Arlington County. The victim was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries. The suspect who threw the brick is described as being 25-32 years old, and wearing a white t-shirt. The second suspect is described as being 25-32 years old, and wearing a dark colored t-shirt.

ROBBERY:

Unit blk. of W. Reed Ave. 08-30/ 12:50 a.m. The victim, a 28-year-old male Arlington resident, was delivering pizza when an individual posing as the customer approached. A second suspect approached from behind, displayed a knife and robbed the victim. Both suspects then fled from the area on foot. The victim was not injured. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 22-25 years old, 6', 185 pounds and was wearing a black shirt and black pants. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 30-35 years old, 5'5", 200-210 pounds and was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

800 blk. of N. Washington St. 09-01/ 7:30 p.m. The victim, a 22-year-old male City resident, was riding his bicycle when he was approached by two men. One of the suspects struck the victim in the head with a pole knocking him to the ground. The victim got up and ran away however, the suspects gave chase and caught the victim in a nearby alley. The suspects robbed the victim and then fled from the area with the victim's bicycle. The victim refused medical treatment. The suspects are described as black males, 22-25 years old, 5'10-6'1", 155-165 pounds. One of the suspects was wearing a blue and white jersey and blue shorts, the other a red t-shirt and blue jeans.

Intersection of Quantrell Ave. and N. Beauregard St. 09-02/ 2:10 a.m. The victim, a 23-year-old male City resident, was approached by a man. The suspect demanded money, punched the victim in the face and stole money from him. The suspect is described as white male, 25-30 years old, 5'4'-5'5", 150-160 pounds and was wearing a black and white shirt and blue jean shorts.

BURGLARY:

1400 blk. of Martha Custis Dr. 08-29/ between 11:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Someone entered the residence without force. Nothing appears to have been stolen.

511 S. Van Dorn St. 08-28/ 11:30 a.m. - 08-29/ 9:00 a.m. Someone entered the business by unknown means and stole electronic equipment.

218 N. Lee St. 08-28/ 9:00 p.m. - 08-29/ 7:30 a.m. Someone entered a business office by force and stole personal checks and electronic equipment. There were several attempts to gain entry to other offices however, the suspect was unsuccessful.

100 blk. of N. Pitt St. 08-28/ between 8:00 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. Someone entered the residence by unknown means and stole personal checks and money.

5600 blk. of Gary Ave. 08-03/ 12:01 a.m. - 08-30/ 1:00 p.m. Someone entered the residence by unknown means and stole two mountain-style bicycles.

1215 N. Quaker Ln. 08-28/ 8:00 p.m. - 08-29/ 6:00 p.m. Someone entered the apartment office storage area by force through a window. The suspect then removed carpet from the room and placed it outside. Staff from the apartment complex discovered the burglary, recovered the carpet and called police.

614 Gibbon St. 08-31/ between 10:00 a.m. and 10:48 a.m. Someone entered the business by force through the front glass door. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

300 blk. of Wythe St. 08-09/ 12:00 p.m. - 08-30/ 10:30 p.m. Someone entered the residence by unknown means and stole jewelry.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

800 blk. of N. Pitt St. 08-31/ 3:00 p.m. - 09-01/ 8:00 a.m. Stolen: 1989 Acura Integra, 2 door, blue.

900 blk. of N. Columbus St. 09-01/ between 4:30 a.m. and 6:01 a.m. Stolen: 1990 Ford Contour, 4 door, silver.

200 blk. of Swamp Fox Rd. 08-28/ between 3:30 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. Stolen: 1988 Toyota Camry, 4 door, blue.

3400 blk. of Martha Custis Dr. 08-31/ 10:45 p.m. - 09-01/ 8:45 a.m. Stolen: 1996 Honda Accord, 4 door, dark green.
