Daily Incident Report

ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2003

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

200 blk. of S. Van Dorn St. 09-21/ between 1:55 p.m. and 2:05 p.m. The victim, a 38-year-old Fairfax County man, was driving on Route 236 in Fairfax County when he became involved in a traffic dispute with another motorist. The suspect driver threatened the victim and then drove away. The victim called police and began following the suspect driver into Alexandria. The suspect stopped at a business on South Van Dorn Street and got out of the car. The victim stopped some distance away and waited for police. A second suspect exited the business and spoke with the first suspect. The first suspect began to walk toward the victim's car and the victim attempted to drive away. The first suspect then tried to strike the victim's car with a bat. The second suspect also threw the bat at the victim's car. As the victim drove through the parking lot, a third suspect rammed his vehicle into the victim's. When police arrived, all three suspects were apprehended. The victim was not injured. Ali Zoury, an 18-year-old male resident of 7436 Little River Tnpk. in Annandale, was charged with Assault by Mob. Two other suspects, both 17-year-old male residents of Fairfax County, were also charged with Assault by Mob.

ROBBERY:

Unit blk. of S. Van Dorn St. 09-19/ between 8:55 p.m. and 9:03 p.m. The victim, a 20-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking toward her residence when the suspect approached her from behind. He grabbed her and fondled her. She screamed and began to run away, and the suspect attempted to steal her purse. The victim was able to run to a friend's apartment for help. She was not injured. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20-30, 5'8"-5'9", 160-180 lbs., and wearing a blue shirt and jeans.

300 blk. of N. Beauregard St. 09-19/ 10:45 p.m. The victim, a 47-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking toward her residence when the suspect approached her from behind. The suspect knocked the victim to the ground and stole her purse. The victim suffered scrapes but refused medical attention. There is no available description of the suspect.

BURGLARY:

100 blk. of S. Van Dorn St. 09-21/ between 4:30 a.m. and 4:35 a.m. The suspect gained entry to the victim's residence and stole a purse. The suspect has been identified John Urbina, a 20-year-old male resident of 100 S. Van Dorn St., #C304. He is being held in Philadelphia and will face Burglary and Grand Larceny charges upon extradition to Alexandria.

833 S. Washington St. 09-19/ 2:54 p.m. The suspect entered the closed business by forcing open a door. He confronted the victim business owner, a 47-year-old Fort Washington woman, who was inside working. She called police and he began damaging furniture in the store. Police responded and arrested the suspect inside the store. Daniel Martin, a 40-year-old man of no fixed address and an employee of the store, was charged with Statutory Burglary.

140 S. Van Dorn St. 09-19/ between 3:20 a.m. and 3:32 a.m. Someone broke out the glass in the storefront to gain entry to the business. It is not yet known if anything was stolen.

235 S. Van Dorn St. 09-19/ 7:00 p.m. - 09-20/ 8:15 a.m Someone gained entry to the business through a glass door. Once inside, the suspect stole food.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

6000 blk. of Tower Ct. 09-16/ 7:05 p.m. - 09-17/ 12:50 a.m. Stolen: 2001 Toyota Camry, 4 door, grey.

300 blk. of N. Columbus St. 09-19/ between 1:30 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. Stolen: 1994 Nissan Quest, van, red.

300 blk. of N. St. Asaph St. 09-18/ 11:00 p.m. - 09-19/ 8:00 a.m. Stolen: 1996 Jeep Cherokee, SUV, red.

4800 blk. of Kenmore Ave. 09-18/ 5:00 p.m. - 09-19/ 10:00 a.m. Stolen: 1985 Toyota, station wagon, gold.

600 blk. of S. Pickett St. 09-19/ 2:00 p.m. - 09-20/ 5:30 p.m. Stolen: 1994 Ford Explorer, SUV, white.

3100 blk. of Commonwealth Ave. 09-20/ between 11:30 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. Stolen: 1994 Lexus ES300, 4 door, white.
