ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2003



FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

400 blk. of N. Armistead St. 11-01/ 9:15 p.m. The victim, a 17-year-old male City resident was attacked and stabbed by a group of Hispanic males. The victim was stabbed several times and as a result, was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he underwent surgery for his non-life threatening injuries. The victim remains at the hospital in stable condition. Detectives responded to the scene and have verified that this attack was gang related and have identified at least one of the suspects. This case remains under investigation.

ROBBERY:

300 blk. of S. Fairfax St. 10-31/ 10:32 p.m. The victim, an 11-year-old boy City resident, was robbed of his Halloween candy. The victim was approached by two teenaged black males - one of the suspects pushed him to the ground and grabbed his bag of candy and a pair of costume sunglasses. Both suspects then fled on foot. The suspect who pushed the victim was further described as being 5'5"-5'10" and was wearing a yellow and red basketball uniform. The other suspect was described as being 5'5"-5'10".

3610 King St. 11-02/ 7:44 p.m. The victim, a 24-year-old male City resident, was approached by the suspect who asked for change. When the victim opened the cash register, the suspect reached inside and stole money. The victim grabbed the suspect and a brief struggle ensued. The suspect managed to escape and fled from the store. Other employees gave chase and caught the suspect a short distance away. Police were called and arrested Stephen James Donovan, a 43-year-old male and resident of 117 Cloverdale Court in Mount Airy Maryland with Robbery.

BURGLARY:

1100 blk. of Martha Custis Dr. 10-31/ 2:49 a.m. Someone entered the school by breaking a ground floor window. Once inside, the suspects stole two television sets. A red van with white lettering was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

200 blk. of S. Whiting St. 10-31/ between 7:40 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Someone entered the residence by force through a bedroom window. Once inside, the suspect stole electronic equipment, jewelry and money.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

2200 blk. of N. Van Dorn St. 10-29/ 9:00 p.m. - 10-31/ 7:30 a.m. Stolen: 2002 Geo Tracker, 4 door, white.

5300 blk. of Taney Ave. 11-01/ between 12:01 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Stolen: 2002 Honda Accord, 4 door, silver.

600 blk. of Notabene Dr. 10-31/ 8:00 p.m. - 11-01/ 6:00 p.m. Stolen: 1994 Toyota Previa van, gold.
