ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, JANUARY 26, 2004

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

Intersection of N. Washington and Madison Sts. 01-23/ 1:05 p.m. The victim, a 29-year-old Arlington man, was jogging with his friend, a 43-year-old Fairfax County man, when they passed a business driveway. As they ran past the driveway, a vehicle was exiting the entranceway in the wrong direction and almost struck the two men jogging. No words were exchanged, however, the driver of the car appeared to be annoyed with the men jogging. The suspect followed the men as they continued their run and attempted to strike them with his car as they crossed Washington Street at the intersection of Madison Street. The victim attempted to avoid being struck by the car that had accelerated in their direction but could not get out of the way fast enough. As a result, the vehicle's driver's side outside mirror struck the victim in the hand. The driver of the suspect vehicle then sped away and ran a red light as he left the area in an accelerated manner. The suspect vehicle is described as a black Acura and the suspect driver is described as a black male, 35-50 years old, clean shaven, wearing glasses and a brown trench coat.

ROBBERY:

3000 blk. of Park Center Dr. 01-24/ 1:55 a.m. The victims, both 24-year-old female City residents, were walking to their apartment building when they were approached by two men. One of the suspects was displayed a handgun and the suspects demanded the victims' pocketbooks. Both complied and the suspects fled on foot. Suspect #1 is descried as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'7"-5'8", 160-170 pounds and wearing a black puffy coat and a black knit cap. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'9"-5'10", 160-170 pounds and wearing a dark coat and hat.

BURGLARY:

4744 Eisenhower Ave. 01-21/ 6:20 p.m. - 01-22/ 7:30 a.m. Someone entered the business by undetermined means and stole money and personal checks.

3700 blk. of Mark Dr. 01-22/ between 8:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Someone entered the residence by undetermined means and stole money, jewelry and two cellular telephones.

4500 blk. of Venable Ave. 01-23/ between 7:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Someone entered the residence by force through a rear window. Once inside, the suspect stole electronic games and clothing.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

4700 blk. of Kenmore Ave. 01-23/ between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Stolen: 1995 Honda Civic, 4 door, dark blue.

100 blk. of S. Reynolds St. 01-23/ between 9:45 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Stolen: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, maroon.

4800 blk. of Kenmore Ave. 01-22/ 5:00 p.m. - 01-23/ 4:00 p.m. Stolen: 1985 Toyota van, gold.
