ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2004

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

300 blk of King St. 04/16/ between 9:10 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. The victim, a 38-year-old Fairfax County man, was drinking wine with an acquaintance. The two men, who are both homeless, got into an argument, and the acquaintance stabbed the victim with a pocket knife. The victim was transported to INOVA Alexandria Hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. The suspect, Randy Pomper, is a 44-year-old man of no fixed address. He was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He is being held without bond at the Alexandria jail.

ROBBERY:

5700 blk. of Reading Ave. 04-18/ 1:20 a.m. The victim, a 24-year-old female City resident, was walking to her apartment when she was approached by two men. One of the suspects produced a handgun and grabbed the victim's purse. Once the suspect grabbed hold of the purse, both men fled on foot. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'7"-5'9", 130-160 pounds and was wearing a black puffy jacket, black jeans and black sneakers. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 6'-6'2", 160-175 pounds and was wearing a black stocking cap, a black puffy jacket and blue jeans.

200 blk. of Yoakum Pkwy. 04-18- 4:20 a.m. The victim, a 25-year-old male City resident, was approached by two men in the parking lot. One of the suspects pushed him from behind and the other displayed a handgun. The suspects demanded money and the victim complied. Both suspects then fled on foot. Suspect #1 is described as a black male,18-20 years old, 5'8"-5'10", 190-200 pounds and was wearing a black and yellow jacket, a black skull cap and black baggy pants. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 18-20 years old, 5'10"-6', 140-150 pounds and was wearing a light blue shirt and black jogging pants.

300 blk. of N. Washington St. 04-17/ 8:00 a.m. The victim, a 24-year-old female Washington D.C. resident, was approached by a man armed with a handgun. The suspect, who was wearing a ski mask, produced a gun and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot.

BURGLARY:

101 S. Van Dorn St. 04-17/ 9:00 p.m. - 04-18/ 8:55 a.m. Someone entered the business by prying open a north side door. Once inside, the suspect forced entry into a vending machine and stole money.

1400 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. 04-17/ 8:30 p.m. Someone entered the residence without force and stole a women's purse.

728 N. Henry St. 04-15/ 11:15 p.m. - 04-16/ 11:30 a.m. Someone entered the business by force through a front door. Once inside, the suspect stole food items and alcohol.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

3300 blk. of Wyndham Cr. 04-15/ 9:00 p.m. - 04-16/ 10:00 a.m. Stolen: 2002 Honda motorcycle, black.

800 blk. of N. Washington St. 04-09/ between 1:40 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. Stolen: 2002 Dodge Dakota, 2 door, white.

400 blk. of N. Armistead St. 04-17/ 9:30 p.m. - 04-18/ 9:00 a.m. Stolen: 1994 Honda Civic, 4 door, white.

500 blk. of N. Armistead St. 04-17/ 5:00 p.m. - 04-18/ 10:00 a.m. Stolen: 2000 Honda Civic, 2 door, black.

3300 blk. of Wyndham Cr. 04-15/ 8:30 p.m. - 04-16/ 6:30 a.m. Stolen: 2004 Yamaha motorcycle, red/black.
