ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2004

ROBBERY:

Unit blk. of S. Bragg St. 05-17/ 3:00 a.m. The victim, a 36-year-old male City resident, was sitting in his car when he was approached by two men. One of the suspects grabbed the victim, pulled him from the car and stole money from him. The second suspect hit him on the head with an unidentified object knocking the victim to the ground. After the assault and robbery, the two men fled on foot. The suspects were described as light skinned black males, both approximately 5'8", 170 pounds, corn row hair styles and both were wearing black t-shirts and blue jeans.

200 blk. of W. Glebe Rd. 05-17/ 2:07 a.m. The victim, a 37-year-old female City resident, was approached by two men. Both suspects grabbed her and began to hit her in the face. One of the suspects attempted to grab her purse but the victim managed to break free and ran away. The suspects were able to take the victim's cell phone during the struggle. Police were called to the scene and began to search for the suspects who had also left the area. A short time later, police stopped two individuals who matched the description of the suspects and questioned them. As a result, the suspects were brought to police headquarters and charged with Robbery. The suspects are identified as Edwin A.Chavez Abrego, a 21-year-old Hispanic male of 3810 Executive Avenue and Juan Hernandez, a 29-year-old Hispanic male of 3803 Russell Road.

1000 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. 05-17/ 11:50 p.m. The victim, a 25-year-old male non-City resident was walking through a ball field when he was approached by four men. The suspects attacked the victim and began to assault him. One of the suspects struck him with a small metal bat. During the assault the suspects stole money and jewelry from the victim and then fled on foot. Suspect #1 is described as an Hispanic male, 20-25 years-old, 5'11", 250 pounds and was wearing a black 'do-rag, black shirt and blue pants. Suspect #2 is described as an Hispanic male, 20-25 years-old, 5'5", medium build and was wearing a black shirt, blue pants and had a tattoo on his left arm. Suspect #3 is described as an Hispanic male, 20-25 years-old, 5'6", 180 pounds and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes. Suspect #4 is described as an Hispanic male, 20-25 years-old, 6', 280 pounds and was wearing a white shirt and black pants.

4900 blk. of Seminary Rd. 05-16/ 2:00 p.m. - 05-17/ 9:50 a.m. Stolen: 1987 Toyota Camry, 4 door, blue.
