ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2004

SEXUAL BATTERY:

2600 blk. of Commonwealth Ave. 09-28/ 5:02 a.m. The victim, a 28-year-old female City resident, was jogging when she passed a man. A few moments later, the same man turned around and chased the victim. The suspect caught the victim and grabbed at her clothing, attempting to remove her top. The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 20-30 years old and was wearing a baseball cap, blue jeans and a hooded sweatshirt.

ROBBERY:

900 blk. of N. Columbus St. 09-28/ 5:27 p.m. The victim, a 32-year-old female non-City resident, was standing at the counter of a convenience store when a man in front of her turned and grabbed her wallet. The suspect stole the victim's wallet and then fled from the store. The suspect is described as a black male, 45-55 years old, 5'10"- 6" and was wearing a red, black and white stripped shirt and dark pants.

1300 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. 09-27/ 4:07 p.m. A lone gunman entered the restaurant armed with a handgun and demanded money. The victim, a 37-year-old woman working behind the counter, was about to comply with his demands when the suspect fired one shot from his handgun. After the shot was fired, the victim ran to the kitchen area. The suspect then fled from the business on foot. The victim was not injured. The suspect is described as a young black male, 5'8", 130-150 pounds who was wearing a ski mask and dark clothing.

4400 blk. of Duke St. 09-21/ 9:00 p.m. - 09-22/ 6:45 a.m. Stolen: 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle, red.
