Special Note: Pizza Delivery Robbery Updates

Two suspects are in custody in connection with this weekend's pizza delivery robberies. Yesterday, detectives with the WAVE Team stopped two suspects in a stolen car in D.C. (The Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement Team is a partnership with Metropolitan, Prince George's County, Montgomery County and Maryland State police and the U.S. Marshals to target vehicle-related crime along the Washington-Maryland border.)

Through investigation, the two suspects were connected to the series of robberies and carjackings in Alexandria. Metropolitan police have charged the two men, both 18-year-olds from Prince George's County, with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Alexandria police have lodged a detainer. When the suspects are brought to Alexandria, they will be charged with the North Morgan Street carjacking.

The car taken in the second carjacking, a silver 1998 Honda Civic, has been recovered. The suspects' names are being withheld pending extradition to Virginia. Additional charges are pending further investigation.

Alexandria police gratefully acknowledge the critical assistance of the WAVE Team in apprehending these suspects.
