ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, APRIL 4, 2005

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

Intersection of Venable and S. Jordan Sts. 04-01/ 5:29 p.m. The victim, a 22-year-old Washington, D.C., man, was driving to visit some friends when four men hanging out nearby began to mouth off to him. He stopped his car and confronted them. As he got out of the car, one suspect jumped on him but he broke free. Another suspect pulled out a gun and as the victim returned to his car, the suspect fired and struck the victim in the leg. The suspect then fled and the victim's friends drove him to Inova Alexandria Hospital. He was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and released the next day. The suspect with the gun is described as a black male with a goatee, 5'9", 150 pounds, and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The other suspect is described as a black male wearing a grey sweatshirt with braided hair.

ROBBERY:

Corner of W. Reed Ave. and Edison St. 03-28/ between 7:25 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. The victim, an 18-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking when the suspect approached her from behind. The suspect displayed a handgun. He forced her into a nearby alley where he robbed her of her coat and wallet. He ordered her to the ground and then he fled. The victim suffered an abrasion when she was forced to the ground. The suspect is described as a male of unknown race, approximately 5'7", 180 lbs., and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

BURGLARY:

1429 N. Beauregard St. 03-30/ 6:00 p.m. - 03-31/ 9:00 a.m. Someone forced open a door to gain entry to the sports pavilion of the apartment complex. Nothing was stolen.

400 blk. of Holland La. 04-01/ 6:30 p.m. - 04-02/ 2:15 p.m. Someone cut through a lock to gain entry to the storage area of the residence. Once inside, the suspect stole a bicycle.

4840 Eisenhower Ave. 04-02/ between 1:50 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Someone forced open a door to gain entry to the business offices of the apartment complex. Nothing appears to be missing.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

4000 blk. of Eisenhower Ave. 04-02/ between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Stolen: 2004 Honda CRV, SUV, white.

3800 blk. of Old Dominion Ave. 03-31/ 5:00 p.m. - 04-01/ 11:45 p.m. Stolen: 1992 Ford Taurus, station wagon, tan.

400 blk. of Cameron Station Blvd. 04-01/ 8:30 p.m. - 04-02/ 9:30 a.m. Stolen: 1997 Honda Accord, 4 door, dark green.

Unit blk. of W. Reed Ave. 04-01/ between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Stolen: 1991 Jeep Grand Cherokee, SUV, green.
