ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS
MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2005
600 blk. of N. Payne St. 06-19/ 12:15 a.m. The victim, a 24-year-old female City resident, was assaulted by a man while she was in the laundry room. The victim was approached by a man she knew and who lived in an adjoining building. The suspect made advances towards her and grabbed her in an inappropriate way. The victim was afraid and took out her cell phone to call a relative. The suspect then left the laundry room and police were called. Warrants were obtained for Herbert Rudolph Brumfield of 610 North Payne Street, apartment #25, charging him with Attempted Rape and Abduction.
1200 blk. of Madison St. 06-16/ 9:55 p.m. Police responded to the area after receiving a call for shots fired. Upon arrival, police found evidence that someone had fired multiple shots from an automatic weapon. Witnesses tell police that the suspects drove in the area in a four-door dark blue or green KIA. The vehicle was occupied by at least two people and the suspect, a young light-skinned black male, was seen leaning out the passenger's side rear window firing a handgun. Although no one was injured as a result of the gun fire, two unoccupied parked cars and a vacant house was struck by bullets.
700 blk. of Four Mile Rd. 06-18/ 7:25 p.m. The victim, a 35-year-old male with no fixed address, was assaulted. The victim sustained a serious cut to his head and bruising to his face as a result of the assault and could not remember what had happened. Due to his injuries, he was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section are following up on this case.
Intersection of Dawes Ave. and Seminary Rd. 06-17/ between 1:00 p.m. and 10:17 p.m. The victim, an 18-year-old male was approached by two men wearing ski masks. The suspects struck the victim in the head with a wooden object and knocked him to the ground. The suspects then went through his pants pockets. The victim managed to run away and the suspects fled as well. The suspects were described as black males, 6'-6'2", 160-180 pounds and both men were wearing all black clothing.
3800 blk. of Russell Rd. 06-18/ 9:00 p.m. The victim, a 20-year-old male Maryland resident, was attacked by a group of men as he attempted to tow a car. The victim works for a towing company and was in the process of towing a vehicle when he was approached by several individuals. One of the suspects grabbed his arm while he was seated in his truck. The victim exited his truck and was struck in the head with a flashlight he was carrying. The other suspects who had gathered, began to assault him as well. The suspects then fled from the scene and police and a medic unit were called. The victim refused to be taken to the hospital and police circulated in the area looking for the suspects who were described as Hispanic males. No arrests were made.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY:
100 blk. of Roberts Ln. 06-18/ between 2:00 a.m. and 2:12 a.m. The victim, a 31-year-old female City resident, was approached from behind by a man. The suspect grabbed her and the victim struggled. During the struggle, they both fell to the ground and the fight continued. The suspect then fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years old, 5'8"-5'9", 160-170 pounds and was wearing a brown knit cap.
1400 blk. of Dogwood Dr. 06-18/ 3:40 a.m. Someone attempted to enter the residence by force through a rear kitchen door. The victim woke up to the sounds of someone attempting to enter his home. Police were called and found evidence of a damaged kitchen door. No entry was gained and the victim was not injured.
300 blk. of Hopkins Ct. 06-18/ 11:30 p.m. - 06-19/ 2:00 a.m. Someone entered the residence by force through a rear door. Nothing appears to have been stolen.

900 blk. of Wolfe St. 06-16/ 6:00 p.m. - 06-17/ 8:00 a.m. Stolen: 1996 Ford Crown Victoria, 4 door, white.
5400 blk. of Duke St. 06-18/ between 10:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Stolen: 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 4 door, brown.
5300 blk. of Duke St. 06-17/ 6:00 p.m. - 06-18/ 3:00 p.m. Stolen: 1998 Mercury Mystique, 4 door, maroon.
