ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

BURGLARY:
1700 blk. of DeWitt Ave. 07-06/ 1:25 a.m. The victim, a 28-year-old female, heard noises outside her home and when she went to investigate, she discovered a bedroom window was open and the window screen was off. When she looked out the window she observed a man standing outside. The suspect then walked away and the victim called police.
Note: This is the second early morning residential burglary case within the past three days. The first offense occurred in the 1700 block of Commonwealth Avenue on July 3, at 4:18 a.m. In this case, a 24-year-old female victim woke up and discovered a strange man in her bed. The victim managed to escape into another room alerting her roommates. The suspect, described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 5'10", thin build with short hair and wearing dark clothing, got away.
Geographically, these two locations are in close proximity to one another.
