ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2005

ROBBERY:

415 E. Monroe Ave. 07-11/ 4:30 a.m. The victim, a 22-year-old Alexandria woman working as a night clerk, was robbed at knife point. The suspect entered the business, approached the counter as if to make a purchase. As the clerk was attempting to assist him, the suspect walked behind the counter, produced a knife and stole cigarettes. The suspect, described as a black male, 5'10"-6', 160-170 pounds and wearing a grey t-shirt and khaki shorts, then fled from the store on foot.

Intersection of S. Van Dorn St. and Stevenson Ave. 07-12/ 12:29 a.m. The victim, a 23-year-old female City resident, had just exited the bus and was walking home when she was approached by two men. One of the suspects demanded her purse, and then grabbed it from the victim. The victim's wallet was removed and the two men fled on foot. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 25-30 years old, 5'7", medium build and was wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 6', medium build, short curly hair and was wearing a red shirt and grey pants.

PEEPING TOM:

Unit block of E. Monroe Ave. 07-11/ 12:20 a.m. A witness observed a man walking around the outside of an apartment building and saw him crouch down underneath a window. When the suspect saw the witness, he ran away. The suspect is described as a black male, skinny, light complexion, thin mustache and was wearing grey or white shorts, white socks and white sneakers.

300 blk. of E. Duncan Ave. 07-11/ 1:10 a.m. A witness who was sitting on his balcony observed a man looking into the ground floor windows of an apartment building. The suspect was described as being 5'10" with a light complexion.

Unit block of Kennedy St. 07-11/ 2:22 a.m. The victim, a 29-year-old female City resident, was in her kitchen when she observed a man looking through her glass front door. The victim went to alert her roommate and when they both went to see if the man was still there, they observed the suspect now peering into the front door of their neighbor. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6' and was wearing a white shirt and had braided hair.

BURGLARY:

2800 Shirlington Rd. 07-08/ 9:30 p.m. - 07-10/ 4:00 p.m. Someone forced entry into the business through the front doors. Once inside, the suspect stole electronic equipment.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

3800 blk. of Old Dominion Blvd. 07-10/ 11:00 p.m. - 07-11/ 3:00 a.m. Stolen: 2001 Mercedes-Benz, sport utility, silver.

Intersection of N. Van Dorn St. and Holmes Run Pkwy. 07-08/ 9:09 p.m. - 07-09/ 9:09 p.m. Stolen: 1993 Saturn, 2 door, green.
