ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2005

HOMICIDE:

100 blk. of E. Mason Ave. 09-24/ between 12:35 a.m. and 12:38 a.m. The victim, Ronnie Lamont Lee, 18, of Northwest Washington, was shot and killed during a robbery attempt. The victim was in a parked car with two friends when the suspect, Javon N. Garvin, approached them with a gun and attempted to rob them. There was a struggle and during the struggle Garvin shot the victim in the upper body. The victim was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he died a short time later. Garvin, 23, of 1706 North Cliff Street in Alexandria, was arrested later that day and charged with First Degree Murder.

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

5100 blk. of Knapp Pl. 09-25/ 9:13 a.m. The victim, a 19-year-old Alexandria man, was in a car with two friends when he was shot. The victim was on his way home when a light-colored van was seen was following the car he was riding in. When the car stopped, two suspects got out of the van and approached the car. One of the suspects was armed with a gun and ordered the victim to exit the car. Before the victim could get out, the suspect shot the victim in the upper body. The victim's friends drove him from the area and called police. The victim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he remains in stable condition. The suspects are described as black males wearing masks. There is no further description of the suspect vehicle.

6200 blk. of Duke St. 09-23/ 2:10 a.m. The victim, a 25-year-old Alexandria man, was walking with a friend when he was approached by two subjects. The suspects struck the victim and he fell to the ground. Both suspects kicked the victim before fleeing the area in a burgundy BMW. The victim was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Suspect #1 is described as a white Hispanic male, 21-25, 5'8"-5'10", 150-165 lbs., and wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is described a white Hispanic male, 21-25, 5'8", 150-165 lbs., and wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans.

3900 blk. of Executive Ave. 09-24/ between 4:45 a.m. and 4:51 a.m. The victim, a 23-year-old Alexandria man, was approached by two suspects who attempted to rob him of money. When the victim stated he did not have any money, both suspects assaulted him and one suspect cut him with a knife. The suspects then fled from the area. Medics treated the victim for minor injuries at the scene. The suspects are both described as white Hispanic males, 25-30, and 5'5'-5'7".

ROBBERY:

4800 blk. of Kenmore Ave. 09-24/ 10:10 p.m. The victim, a 54-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking when a suspect approached her from behind. He struck her on the arm, grabbed her purse and then fled. The victim did not require medical treatment. The suspect is described as a male, 6'-6'2", 220-250 lbs. and wearing dark clothing.

200 blk. of Normandy Hill Dr. 09-25/ between 1:10 a.m. and 1:24 a.m. The victim, a 23-year-old Alexandria man, was about to make a pizza delivery when he was robbed. Four suspects approached him as he walked to make a delivery. One of the suspects demanded the victim's money and the victim complied. Another suspect struck the victim with a bottle before all four suspects fled. The victim refused treatment for his injury. The suspects are described black males, 14-18 and 5'6"-5'7". Two of the suspects were wearing black sweat shirts.

3800 blk. of Executive Ave. 09-24/ 2:00 a.m. The victim, a 21-year-old Alexandria man, was robbed by two suspects outside an apartment building. One suspect struck him with a baseball bat and when he fell to the ground, the second suspect robbed him of his wallet. Both suspects then fled. The victim was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Both suspects are described as white Hispanic males, 22-23, 5'3"-5'8", and wearing black clothing.

BURGLARY:

400 blk. of North View Terr. 09-23/ between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Someone gained to the residence by undetermined means. Once inside, the suspect stole jewelry and other items.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

5300 blk. of Holmes Run Pkwy. 09-23/ 9:00 p.m. - 09-24/ 7:30 p.m. Stolen: 1988 Toyota Camry, 4 door, grey.

5700 blk. of Dunster Ct. 09-23/ between 1:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Stolen: 1991 Toyota Camry, 4 door, burgundy.

6100 blk. of Edsall Rd. 09-22/ 8:00 p.m. - 09-23/ 8:45 a.m. Stolen: 1995 Chevrolet Impala, 4 door, maroon.

300 blk. of S. Reynolds St. 09-22/ 7:30 p.m. - 09-23/ 4:33 a.m. Stolen: 2004 Dodge Ram, pick-up truck, blue.

300 blk. of N. Van Dorn St. 09-22/ 10:05 a.m. - 09-23/ 7:05 a.m. Stolen: 2004 Dodge Durango, SUV, silver.
