ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2005
HOMICIDE:
400 blk. of N. Patrick St. 12-07/ 5:09 p.m. The victim, 37-year-old David C. Murphy of Alexandria, was working on his truck when an unknown suspect approached him and shot him. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:55 p.m. No suspect has been identified and a motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.
FELONIOUS ASSAULT:
900 blk. of Montgomery St. 12-08/ 1:07 a.m. The victim, a 41-year-old Fairfax County man, was driving his car and pulled up to a small group of subjects. For a reason that has not been determined, one of the subjects shot him in the upper body. The victim was flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he is being treated for an injury that is not believed to be life-threatening. The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, about 5'7" with a thin build.
BURGLARY:
100 blk. of Madison Pl. 12-06/ between 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Someone forced open a door to gain entry to the residence. Once inside, the suspect stole jewelry.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO:
1100 blk. of Colonial Ave. 12-06/ between 4:45 a.m. and 4:50 a.m. Stolen: 1997 Mercury Sable, 4 door, silver.
500 blk. of S. Van Dorn St. 12-06/ between 8:00 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Stolen: 2000 Honda Civic, 2 door, blue.
