ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2005

HOMICIDE:

800 blk. of Montgomery St. 12-27/ 10:10 p.m. Police responded to reports of shots fired and found the victim, 22-year-old Lawrence C. Sims of Washington, D.C. He had been shot and was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. There is no suspect description and a motive for the murder has not yet been determined.

ROBBERY:

100 blk. of S. Whiting St. 12-25/ between 8:05 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. The victim, a 22-year-old Alexandria woman, got out of her car and was approached by the suspect. He threatened her and when she attempted to call police with her cell phone, he grabbed the phone from her. He then drove away. She was not injured. The suspect is described as a black male, in his 30s, 6'3"-6'4", 180-190 pounds, and wearing a brown cap, a brown shirt and blue jeans. His vehicle is described as a white SUV.

BURGLARY:

100 S. Van Dorn St. 12-23/ 6:30 p.m. - 12-26/ 11:15 a.m. The suspect gained entry to the business office by undetermined means. Once inside, the suspect stole cash.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

300 blk. of Commerce St. 12-26/ between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Stolen: 1988 Toyota Corolla, 4 door, red.
