ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS
TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2006
800 blk. of N. Washington St. 12-30/ 4:10 p.m. The victim, a 41-year-old Alexandria man was assaulted by a group of young men. The suspects, approximately five individuals, approached the victim and began to punch and kick him. After the assault the group fled on foot. Police investigated and were able to identify at least one of the men responsible. The suspect, a 17-year-old Alexandria man was taken into custody and charged with Felonious Assault. This case remains under investigation.
100 blk. of Dale St. 12-31/ 9:45 p.m. The victim, a 30-year-old Alexandria man was assaulted by a group of four Hispanic males. The suspects approached the victim and beat him with a trash can and a stick. After the assault, the suspects fled on foot. The victim was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries.
200 blk. of Swamp Fox Rd. 01-01/ 1:16 a.m. The victims, a 23 year-old, a 25-year-old, a 27-year old and a 29-year-old, all non-city resident males, were robbed at gunpoint. The suspect approached the men, produced a handgun and demanded money. The victims complied and the suspect ran away. Police nearby pursued the suspect and caught him. Stetson Thomas, a 20-year-old of 12160 Gilespie Circle Waldorf, Maryland, was taken into custody and charged with Armed Robbery. The victim's stolen property and a loaded handgun were recovered at the scene.
Intersection of N. Jordan St. and Raleigh Ave. 01-01/ between 2:00 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. The victim, a 44-year-old Alexandria man, was robbed by three men. The suspects approached, demanded money and struck the victim in the head. The suspects then stole his wallet and fled on foot. The victim was transported to Inova Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injury. The suspects are described as being Hispanic males, 20-25 years old, 5'7"-5'9". One of the suspects was wearing a shirt with horizontal stripes.
900 blk. of N. Fairfax St. 01-01/ 4:50 a.m. The victims, an 18-year-old and two 19-year-old males, were robbed at knife point. The suspects approached the men, produced a knife and robbed them of their money, cell phones and jackets. The suspects fled in a black Ford Escape with Virginia license plates.
5400 blk. of Sheffield Ct. 01-02/ 2:50 a.m. The victim, a 30-year-old Alexandria man, was approached by three men. One of the suspects approached from the front while the other two suspects approached from the rear. Two of the suspects, the ones who approached from the rear, began to strike the victim with a baseball bat knocking him to the ground. The victim believes that one of the suspects may have had a taser-type weapon as he felt a shock run through his body while he was on the ground. During the assault, the suspects stole the victim's cell phone and money before fleeing in a white Honda Civic. The victim was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries. The suspect who initially approached from the front is described as an Hispanic male, 21-23 years old, and was wearing a black coat with silver squares. No further description was given on the other two men.
400 blk. of S. Washington St. 01-02/ 1:45 p.m. The victim, a 23-year-old female non-city resident was outside her place of business when she was approached by a man. The suspect was holding a handgun and demanded a cigarette. The suspect then turned and walked away. The victim was not injured.
557 S. Van Dorn St. 01-02/ 8:48 p.m. A man entered the restaurant and approached the front counter and asked for change. When the employee opened the register, the suspect grabbed cash from the drawer and implied he had a weapon. The suspect ran out the door and was seen entering a green Chevrolet Tahoe. No one was injured. The suspect is described as a black male, 5-10"-5'-11", 190-200 pounds and was wearing a black coat and blue jeans.
100 blk. of Century Pl. 12-29/ between 9:00 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. The victim, a 25-year-old Alexandria woman, reported someone was looking into her window. The victim saw a silhouette by her front window and went to investigate. As she approached the window, the suspect walked away. Several minutes later, the suspect returned to the same window and this time, the victim called police.
300 blk. of Adams St. 12-23/ 10:00 a.m. - 12-29/ 2:30 p.m. Someone entered the residence by force through the air vent system. It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen.
2500 blk. of Yoakum Pkwy. 11-29/ 12:00 p.m. - 12-29/ 12:00 p.m. Someone entered the residence by undetermined means and stole furniture items, a lamp and assorted jars.

100 blk. of S. Bragg St. 12-29/ between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Stolen: 1992 Lincoln Towncar, 4 door, dark blue.
400 blk. of W. Braddock Rd. 12-31/ between 8:00 p.m. and 8:05 p.m. Stolen: 1998 Ford Taurus, 4 door, gold.
