ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

ROBBERY:
700 blk. of King St. 06-01/ 7:00 p.m. The victim, a 35-year-old Alexandria man, had just left a bank when he noticed two men following him. As they entered the intersection of King and Washington Streets, one of the suspects produced a knife and a gun and demanded money. A brief struggle ensued and the victim was cut in the hand before he managed to escape and run away. The suspects gave chase and caught the victim a short distance away. Police were called to the area and apprehended both suspects who were still attempting to rob the victim. Both suspects, Nathan Andrew Yeannakis, a 20-year-old male of 2902 Mosby Street and Derrick McCray Williams, a 24-year-old male of 3214 Wayne Road in Falls Church, were taken into custody. Yeannakis was charged with Attempt Armed Robbery and Felonious Assault. Williams was charged with Attempt Armed Robbery. A BB gun and a knife were recovered at the scene and the victim was treated by a medic unit who had responded.
