Daily Incident Report

ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS

MONDAY, JULY 10, 2006

SEXUAL BATTERY:

900 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. 07-08/ between 2:50 a.m. and 3:50 a.m. The victim, a 26-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking from the metro stop and crossing a field when she was approached by two men. One of the suspects suddenly reached out and grabbed her in an inappropriate manner. The victim screamed, fought with the man, and called police on her cell phone. The two suspects then fled from the area on foot. Police were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was not seriously hurt. Suspect #1 is described as an Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, 5'9", 185 pounds and was wearing a green t-shirt and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is described as an Hispanic male, 18-20 years old, 5'7", 120 pounds and was wearing a white tank top shirt.

5500 blk. of Trent Ct. 07-09/ 5:30 p.m. The victim, a 27-year-old Alexandria woman, had just parked her car and was passing a man working on his moped. As the victim passed, the suspect reached out and grabbed her in an inappropriate manner. The victim yelled at the suspect who then left on his moped. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male.

5200 blk. of Dawes Ave. 07-09/ 6:55 p.m. The victims, a 42-year-old Alexandria woman and a 44-year-old Washington, D.C. woman, walked past an individual fixing his moped. As the women passed, the suspect reached out and grabbed both of them in an inappropriate manner. The victims screamed and the suspect left on his moped. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 18-20 years old, 5'4"-5'6", 130-140 pounds and was wearing a black and yellow helmet and a yellow jersey.

ROBBERY:

4100 blk. of Ford Ave. 07-07/ between 11:00 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. The victim, a 50-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking home when a man on a bicycle approached her. The suspect grabbed her purse and forcibly removed it from the victim's grasp. The suspect then struck the victim in the head with the purse knocking her against a nearby wall. The suspect then fled from the scene on his bicycle. The suspect is described as a black male, 18-20 years old, 135-150 pounds and was wearing an orange bandana, and a dark t-shirt.

1462 N. Beauregard St. 07-08/ 9:30 p.m. The victim business was robbed by three men. As the three men entered the store, one of the suspects jumped over the counter knocking the clerk to the ground. The suspect demanded money and stole cash from the register. A witness inside the store heard a gun shot and believed that one of the suspects discharged a weapon. No one was injured. After robbing the store, the three men exited on foot and fled from the scene. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, 5'7"-5'10", 165-175 pounds and was wearing a black hat, black shirt and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, 5'10" - 6', 185-200 pounds and was wearing a black and white shirt, a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Suspect #3 is described as a tall slender black male.

PEEPING TOM:

4400 blk. of Taney Ave. 07-07/ 11:56 p.m. The victim, a 32-year-old Alexandria woman, saw a man standing outside her kitchen window looking inside. The victim called police and the suspect left the area on foot. The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 5'8", 175-180 pounds with brown spiked hair and was wearing a gray shirt and dark sweat pants.

BURGLARY:

100 blk. of N. Early St. 07-07/ 6:15 p.m. - 07-08/ 9:15 a.m. Someone entered the residence, which is currently under construction, and stole numerous power tools. It was also discovered that the victim's storage shed was forced open and additional power tools were stolen.

2600 blk. of Foundry Wy. 07-08/ 6:00 p.m. - 07-09/ 2:00 a.m. Someone entered the residence by force through the front door. Once entry was gained, the suspect stole clothing, jewelry and cosmetics.

4500 blk. of Strutfield La. 07-09/ between 1:55 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. The victim witnessed someone opening her front door. The victim yelled and the suspect, described as a black male, 5'9"-6', 160-190 pounds and wearing dark clothing, fled from the area on foot.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO:

100 blk. of S. Pickett St. 07-07/ 7:45 p.m. Stolen: 2006 Infiniti QX56, sport utility, white.

3400 blk. of Jefferson Davis Hwy. 07-09/ between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Stolen: 2002 Infiniti, 4 door, silver.
