ALEXANDRIA POLICE INCIDENTS
MONDAY, JULY 31, 2006
1300 blk. of Mt. Vernon Ave. 07-29/ 3:44 p.m. The victims, ages 18 and 19 and both City residents, were shot during an altercation with two other men. The suspects confronted the victims and shot them before running away through a north side alley. The victims were flown to the Washington Hospital Center where they were treated for serious injuries. Officers on the scene canvassed the area attempting to locate witnesses to this offense. Investigative leads were developed and detectives arrested a 14-year-old Fairfax teenager in connection to this shooting charging him with Malicious Wounding. A second suspect is still being sought.
N. Washington and Pendleton Sts. 07-30/ between 12:40 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. The victim, a 19-year-old Alexandria man, was shot while sitting in his vehicle. The victim was with two of his friends in his car waiting at a traffic light. A car pulled alongside, and two men exited the vehicle. The suspects displayed handguns and both discharged their weapons striking the victim. The suspects then left and the victim drove himself to Inova Alexandria Hospital for a non-life threatening injury. The victim was treated and released. There was no description given on the two suspects however, it was learned that the victim knew his attackers.
Intersection of Mt. Vernon and Executive Aves. 07-29/ 12:54 a.m. The victim, a 36-year-old Alexandria man, was attacked by two men. The suspects repeatedly kicked and punched the victim and then struck him with a garbage can before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries.
Intersection of Commonwealth and E. Reed Aves. 07-28/ 10:55 p.m. The victim, a 29-year-old Alexandria man, was approached by a group of individuals. The suspects attacked the victim, knocked him off his bicycle and assaulted him. One of the suspects stole the victim's bicycle and then the rest of the group fled from the scene on foot. One of the suspects is described as a white male, 21-24 years old, 5'1"-5'4", 140-150 pounds and was wearing a black hat, blue shirt and black pants. The other suspects were described as being black males and females and all together there was approximately 10-15 suspects.
Unit blk. of W. Glebe Rd. 07-29/ 4:15 a.m. Someone attempted to enter the victim's home by breaking an outside bathroom window. The victim heard the glass break and went to investigate. The victim observed a man attempting to climb through the bathroom window and called police. The suspect then left the area and was seen entering a red Mitsubishi Eclipse. Nothing was stolen. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 5'4", 160 pounds and was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
1125 Queen St. 07-25/ 8:30 p.m. - 07-29/ 10:30 a.m. Someone entered the business by force through a window. Once inside, the suspect stole money.
6100 blk. of Edsall Rd. 07-31/ between 3:15 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Someone entered the residence by force through a sliding glass door. Once inside, the suspect stole electronic equipment.
Unit blk. of S. Gordon St. 07-29/ 11:30 p.m. - 07-30/ 8:20 a.m. Someone entered the residence by undetermined means and stole electronic equipment, money and assorted papers.

6100 blk. of Edsall Rd. 07-26/ 4:00 p.m. - 07-28/ 4:30 a.m. Stolen: 1971 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, blue.
4900 blk. of Eisenhower Ave. 07-26/ 7:00 p.m. - 07-27/ 6:30 a.m. Stolen: 2005 Dodge Caravan, white.
