ROBBERY:
200 block of South Van Dorn Street 01/05 7:48 p.m. Victim, a 41-year-old Fairfax County woman, reports that she was pushed to the ground and her purse, containing cash and personal property, was stolen. The victim was not injured. A witness to this offense chased, caught and fought with the suspect, who was able to get away again. The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, 507, 190 lbs., wearing a large black jacket.
North Henry & First Streets 01/07 1:00 a.m. Victims, 28-year-old and 31-year-old Arlington men, report that they were approached by a group of 8 to 10 black males and females. One of the male suspects brandished a pistol and then took cash and personal property from both suspects. No further description is available.
BRANDISHING:
800 block of Bashford Lane 01/07 2:06 a.m. Victim, a 29-year-old Alexandria woman, reports that she was approached by a suspect who pointed a pistol at her and ordered her to remain quiet. She fled into the building and the suspect left. Suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, 506 508, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up. His face was covered with a bandana.
BURGLARY/ARREST:
100 block of South Reynolds Street 01/06 6:58 a.m. Suspect entered the victims residence through an open door while the victims slept and took a purse. Responding officers located the suspect in a stairwell with the purse still in his possession. He was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Police charged Steve Njoroge, 36, no fixed address, with Burglary and related offenses.
3200 block of Russell Road 01/06 11:57 a.m. Victim, a 43-year-old Alexandria woman, dialed 911 to report an intruder in her home after hearing breaking glass and observing the suspect enter through a window. She gathered her children and locked them into a bedroom. Officers arrived on the scene quickly and advised her, through an open window, to remain in the bedroom with her children. A K-9 team then entered the house and confronted the intruder, who surrendered without incident. Police charged Jose Cabrera, 27, of 3811 Executive Avenue in Alexandria, with Burglary.
BURGLARY:
3900 block of Executive Avenue 01/05 at 8:50 p.m. - 01/06 at 1:36 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the apartment and took electronic items and cash.
GRAND LARCENY (AUTO):
100 block of North Union Street 01/05 at 9:00 p.m. 01/06 at 1:00 a.m. Stolen: 2001 Audi A6, 4-door, black.
400 block of North Armistead Street 01/05 at 9:30 p.m. 01/06 at 4:00 p.m. Stolen: 1997 Ford Crown Victoria, 4-door, white.
3300 block of South 28th Street 01/06 between 4:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Stolen: 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320, SUV, silver.
