ALEXANDRIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

ROBBERY:

5700 block of Reading Avenue 3/18 at 12:30 p.m. The victim, a 49-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking when two suspects approached her. One grabbed her purse and then displayed a handgun as he pulled the purse from her. Both suspects then fled and were last seen running through the parking lot toward Rayburn Avenue. The victim was not injured. The suspect with the gun is described as a black male, 18 to 22, 5'6" to 5'7" tall, 140 to 150 pounds, and wearing a hooded black fleece pullover and black fleece pants. The second suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 22, 5'8" to 5'9" tall, 140 to 160 pounds, and also wearing a hooded black fleece pullover and black fleece pants.

BURGLARY:

300 block of East Monroe Avenue between 3/14 at 6:00 p.m. and 3/18 at 4:30 p.m. Someone gained entry to the residence by undetermined means. Once inside, the suspect stole appliances.
