ALEXANDRIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

ROBBERY:

 

6300 block of Stevenson Avenue 3/22 between 12:30 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. Victim, a 29-year-old Maryland man, reports that he was assaulted and robbed by three suspects. The suspects approached the victim as he was walking to an apartment building. One suspect pointed a pistol at him while demanding his wallet. The victim attempted to escape, but was chased and caught by the suspects. They took jewelry and personal items from him. The victim later discovered that he had been cut during the robbery. He sought treatment at a Washington, D.C. hospital. The suspects, all described only as black males, escaped by unknown means.

 

100 block of North Washington Street 3/22 11:00 a.m. Victim, an 88-year-old Alexandria woman, reports that the suspect grabbed her purse from her. The suspect then fled east on Cameron Street, on foot. The purse was later recovered in the 600 block of Second Street. The only thing missing was cash. The suspect is described as a black male, 200 lbs., in his late 30s. He was wearing a checkered shirt and blue jeans.

 

BURGLARY ARREST:

 

1301 North Quaker Lane between 3/21 at 8:30 p.m. and 3/22 at 7:30 a.m. Suspect entered the business by breaking the glass in the front door. This was done in an attempt to retrieve his identification card from an adjacent business where it had fallen while he was attempting to jimmy the door. The suspect subsequently confessed to both offenses as well as a third previous offense. Dwight P. Oliver, 24, was charged with three counts of Burglary.

 

GRAND LARCENY (AUTO):

 

100 block of South Reynolds Street 3/22 between 3:00 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Stolen: 1996 Dodge Caravan, van, maroon

 

1600 North Beauregard Street between 3/20 at 10:30 a.m. and 3/22 at 8:30 a.m. Stolen: 2002 Dodge Caravan, van, green
