B. Consideration of the following variances under Sections 11-004(B) and 11-1100 of the Alexandria Zoning Ordinance:

 

THE FOLLOWING DOCKET ITEMS ARE NEW CONSIDERATIONS FOR BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS HEARING:

 

  1. CASE BZA #98-0001
  2. 327 EAST HUME AVENUE

    ZONE: R-2-5, RESIDENTIAL

    Stephen E. and Willie Mae Gray, Owners, by Robert C. Byrnes, Architect: Variance to construct second story addition 2.00 feet from the west side property line. If the variance is granted, the Board of Zoning Appeals will necessarily be granting a variance from section 12-102(A) of the zoning ordinance relating to physical enlargement or expansion of a noncomplying structure.

    ZONE: R-2-5, RESIDENTIAL

    Terence J. Hill, Owner: Variance to construct a garage 4.00 feet from the west side property line and 4.00 feet from the rear property line, and to pave all of the required east side yard to extend an existing driveway to the rear of the lot. If the variance is granted, the Board of Zoning Appeals will necessarily be granting a variance from section 12-102(A) of the zoning ordinance relating to physical enlargement or expansion of a noncomplying structure.

    BOARD ACTION: DEFERRED TO MARCH 12, 1998 HEARING BY BOARD 6-0

    REASON: TO ALLOW APPLICANT TIME TO REVISE HIS PLANS

  5. The Board discussed the process used to calculate average residential setbacks in line with existing development, and under what circumstances the process can be applied.
