A late payment penalty of $10.00 or 10 percent of the
tax due, whichever is greater; not to exceed the amount
of the tax, will be assessed for failure to file a return
or pay a tax by the due date. In addition, interest
at an annual rate of 10 percent the first year, and
5 percent each year thereafter, will accrue until all
taxes and penalties are paid.
If you have not received a tax bill three weeks before
the due date, please call the Treasury Division to determine
the amount due. Unfortunately, late penalty and interest
cannot be waived if the tax was not paid by the due
date, even if a tax bill was not received through the
mails.
