Currently, we serve
Alexandria schools with a curriculum designed for grades five, seven
and nine/ten. The Expect Respect curriculum is intended to provide information,
support and guidance for school aged students. The objectives of the
curriculum are to help students:
- Define terms
associated with sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence
and teen pregnancy prevention
- Recognize destructive
and unhealthy patterns of behavior in relationships
- Set goals and
make choices that lead to safety awareness and risk reduction and
that value the self and others
- Recognize the
importance of clear communication, assertive behavior and self- respect
for establishing and maintaining violence free, healthy relationships
- Understand the
importance of delaying sexual intercourse and choosing behaviors that
reduce the risk of teen pregnancy
