Park and Recreation Commission to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Renovation of Patrick Henry Recreation Center The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 10, to discuss plans and ideas for the proposed renovation of the Patrick Henry Recreation Center. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4643 Taney Ave. A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission will follow the public hearing. More information....
Chinquapin Park Recreation Center Closed for Annual Maintenance The Chinquapin Park Recreation Center, located at 3210 King St., is closed for annual maintenance beginning Monday, September 1 at 3 pm. The center will re-open Wednesday, September 10 at 6 am. For additional information on center programs and activities, and Fall 2008 class registration, call 703.519.2160 between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday.
2nd Annual Film Festival - "Reel Politics" The City of Alexandria will host its Second Annual Film Festival at the Lee Center’s Kauffman Auditorium (1108 Jefferson St.) from September 25 through September 28. This year’s Film Festival theme is “Politics in the USA,” featuring short films, features, and documentaries. The festival will also include a youth program component featuring junior filmmakers 18 and younger. More information....
